Yesterday for most people in Australia it was a day to kick back and catch up with friends, tune into Triple J’s Hottest 100 and if your long weekend stamina was going strong even go down to the South Perth foreshore for the annual fireworks display. For a few though it meant being recognised for becoming an Australian Citizen.
The Town of Victoria Park and Major Trevor Vaughn were proud to deliver dozens of people their certificates of citizenship yesterday. Antz inya Pantz’s Brazilian superstar Flavia not only transitioned across to Australian citizenship yesterday but even picked up the Community Organisation Award alongside fellow local Joni Sercombe for their work as not-for-profit group Vic Park Collective.
Whilst local man about town Wilf Hendricks was honoured with the individual award for his work as heading up Rotary Club, the new Men’s Shed in Kensington and nearly every other project around town.
For those locals that were honoured locally we just wanted to say top work and we hope you celebrated in the spirit with a cold one.
